What's noitucortcelE? That's Electrocution reversed, because that's exactly what the B-Shift Station 5 crew did for 30 year old Benjaman Zamora on July 18th, 2008. Ben was working on an electrical panel at a construction site when something went gravely wrong. Following that event, the first two links in the "chain of survival" were in place with a 911 call and bystander chest compressions which undoubtedly contributed to the outcome. The final two links in the chain were B-Shift Station 5. They provided the early defibrillation and early advanced care which ultimately resulted in the picture above. Ben stopped by the station on Aug 20th to thank his rescuers. He reports no long term deficits. When people ask what do you like about being a firefighter? This is one situation that tops the list. Seen left to right, FF Andy Muller, Eng James Pierce, Lt Derek Wrenn, Mr Zamora, Eng Chad Holladay, and FF Jacob Serabia. Article and photo printed with Mr Zamora's permission.
