| On Tuesday September 28th we received $2000.00 in grant money from Wal-mart Distribution and Wal-mart Transportation to fund our Safe Kids Program. As some of you are aware, we have joined efforts with McKenna Health Link to improve this program. They will be doing workshops for people needing carseats and for people who just want to be better educated about them. They are housing the carseats and plan on them being distributed as needed through the workshops and through the OB unit, making sure that every baby goes home in a safe seat. We will continue to check seats here as time allows and on emergency type basis. If you have someone who has been involved in an MVA and their seat is damaged and they need a replacement we can take care of that. We currently have five car seat technicians (Stacie Zercher, Gloria Herfurth, George Amen, John Weige and Robin Scott). There is a class coming up the end of this month if anyone is interested in attending get with DC Zercher. George Amen will be at the Wal-mart store on Oct. 9th from 1300-1700 answering questions for the public on car seats. If you know anyone who is needing information send them by to talk to him. This program has been a tremendous amount of work but very rewarding and very much needed. We hope to free up a little more time now that McKenna has joined forces.
